Ovral G acts by regulating the affect hormones responsible for proper menstrual cycle. The drug tricks the body by maintaining high levels of synthetic progesterone, preventing the release of eggs from ovaries, thereby maintaining its action.
Its dosage depends on age, clinical condition and any medical history, if present. The usual recommended dosage of Ovral G ranges between 1-4 tablets per day and can be taken with or without regard to meals.
Avoid Ovral G if you smoke or drink or are allergic to any estrogens or progestin or inactive ingredients of this medicine.
Do not take this medicine if you have history of stroke or blood clots, severe hypertension, diabetes or liver problems.
Common side effects of this product include headache, dizziness, nausea or vomiting, worsened acne, stomach cramping and vaginal discomfort.
While serious side effects of include complications from blood clots such as heart attack, pulmonary embolism and stroke, which may prove fatal.
